Teaching Artisans
Students at our center are offered the opportunity to volunteer and tutor Oaxacan artisans interested in learning English.
Learning English offers these men and women the opportunity to enhance their communication skills in order to sell
their products directly to international visitors.

Teaching Kids
Our students can also volunteer and interact with the children of two different communities. In this program,
the kids learn basic English through games and art. The ultimate goal is not only to teach English,
but to act as the bridge between the two different cultures. Our dynamics emphasize the importance of their own language as well as on that of the native languages still spoken by their parents and grandparents, the value of their community, their history and their traditions.

Oral Tradition Project
Ollin Tlahtoalli runs a program to preserve oral traditions and oral history within the communities.
Videos that capture these stories are filmed, edited and presented in the communities in an effort to create
opportunities for these stories to be listened to by the younger generations, so that they may retain an
important part of their heritage.
