Spanish Classes / Cooking Lessons / Oaxacan Markets & Communities
Come to Oaxaca and learn about its culture while learning Spanish, visiting traditional markets and taking cooking lessons.
Ollin Tlahtoalli has prepared a special program for you who are interested in experiencing the real Oaxaca and its people.
Come and learn Spanish, visit some of the most interesting places in the city and some of the most beautiful communities
in the valley of Oaxaca. Learn how to make traditional dishes and drinks directly from the women in the communities.
Come, learn and be part of our projects at Ollin Tlahtoalli.
Dates: January 30 -February 19, 2010 Application due: December 20, 2009
Cost: 950 USD Limited to eight participants.
Non-refundable application fee: 150 USD (deducted from the overall tuition)
INCLUDES:
- Homestay with a Mexican family in a private room & two meals (breakfast and lunch) from January 30 to February 19, 2010
- Transportation to and from the airport.
- 40 Hours of Spanish classes, materials and certificate of participation (levels suggested for the January program: beginner and high beginner) **
- Cooking lessons in three different communitites in the Valley of Oaxaca (traditional Oaxacan dishes and traditional prehispanic drink "Tejate")
- Visits to traditional markets and museums ***
- Visit to the archaelogical sites of Monte Alban and Mitla (includes transportation and guide)
- Visit to the communities of Teotitlán del Valle, Tlacolula and Tule (includes transportation and guide)
- Talk on Oral Tradition Preservation: one of the projects you will be supporting by studying us.
